The Minister of Health Launched the Unit of Communicable Diseases:

The Minister of Health, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Health Authority “Weqaya’ Fahd Al-Jalajel launched on Wednesday the unit of communicable diseases of the third level of biological safety.

The Public Health Authority stated that this unit contributes to raising the national capabilities for monitoring and diagnosing high-risk infectious diseases by providing a system of mobile laboratories of the third level, which includes all the equipment, technologies, and procedures necessary for the operation, which meet the international standards and requirements for security and biological safety.

The Public Health Authority stresses that all health cadres working in these laboratories have a high level of competence and experience in the field after training in advanced international centers in high-containment laboratories.

It pointed out that the communicable diseases unit will contribute to raising the Kingdom's readiness to monitor epidemic diseases, in addition to enhancing health security, which comes in the context of the authority's efforts to achieve one of the strategic goals of the health sector transformation program "enhance the prevention of health risks" and contribute to reaching the goals of The Saudi Vision 2030.

The Public Health Authority plays pivotal and major roles in preserving human health and protecting society from health risks since the adoption of its activation initiative as one of the health sector transformation program initiatives. And the approval of its organization by the Council of Ministers as one of the organizational outputs of the health transformation.
